Celebrity Cruises is renowned for delivering luxurious experiences on the seas, with each ship of the fleet offering a range of spacious accommodation options, gourmet dining venues, dazzling lounges and much more. However, all of this will be eclipsed later this year when the line launches their newest and perhaps most exciting vessel to date - Celebrity Edge.
A considerable amount of thought and time is being put into every aspect of the ship, with the line looking to Kelly Hoppen MBE to bring her experience on board the interior areas. She, alongside visionary architect, Tom Wright, will use the latest 3D technology to assist in ensuring every fine detail of the ship is taken into consideration and the result looks set to be truly breathtaking.
Better yet - she will be coming to Southampton in 2019, providing an opportunity for British holidaymakers to see what they are missing out on aboard a cruise. This week, we take a look at some of the reasons why this is one of the most eagerly anticipated cruise ships of 2018.
Gourmet Dining
On the subject of dining, Celebrity Edge will offer a plethora of options to suit all tastes and desires. There will be ten free options to choose from including buffet spreads and lighter bites, as well as a range of breakfast and lunch options. In addition to these, there will be a range of for-fee dining options including the Fine Cut Steakhouse, Rooftop Garden Grill, and 'Dinner on the Edge'.
Accommodations
The ship lives up to its name with its wide range of accommodation options available on board. Some of the higher grade accommodation options available will enable you to appreciate the edge, with suites that offer expansive balconies looking out to sea. The two-story edge villas offer 950 square feet of space across two levels, with separate sleeping and living quarters and an outdoor space you can call your own.
Magic Carpet
Another unique dining venue - and one which fulfils the promise of the ship's name - is the Magic Carpet. Extending over the side of the ship, the Magic Carpet rises and descends 13 decks of the ship and offers unparalleled views out to sea. This is the world's first cantilevered floating platform at sea, offering guests romantic dining experience and the chance to enjoy a quiet drink or two.
Pool Deck
Celebrity Edge will offer the largest pool of the Celebrity Cruises fleet and one of the largest at sea, with swimmers able to complete 25-yard laps. The pool will be positioned underneath a frequently-changing abstract mirror installation. There will also be a pool bar, making this the perfect setting within which to relax and soak up the sun on your holiday.
Eden
Eden is a uniquely dynamic and vibrant venue which has held our intrigue since being unveiled. Full details are yet to be confirmed, but it has been described as a three-level venue encased in glass offering experiences that will delight all the senses. Indulgent cuisine will combine with spectacular art and performances to create a venue unlike anything ever seen before on the seas.
Rooftop Garden
The Rooftop Garden will be a hive of activity throughout the day, with an urban landscape that is inspired by childhood playgrounds. Here, guests can enjoy live music and dancing, dining at the Rooftop Garden Grill Restaurant, or catch a movie at 'A Taste of Film'.
Celebrity Edge is due to arrive in Southampton in 2019, following her launch later this year. She will sail across the Atlantic and operate Caribbean sailings throughout the winter season before completing a return journey to Southampton. After sailing out of the UK, she will operate sailings throughout the Mediterranean.
