There has been a port on the Tyne at least since the Romans used their settlement of Arbeia to supply the garrison of Hadrian's Wall. Today’s cruise port features covered walkways, secure car parking and automated luggage handling for your convenience and a large passenger lounge. A short walk away is the Royal Quays shopping area which has restaurants and other facilities. Easy access is available to Newcastle’s city centre.
There are plenty of sights to be seen in Newcastle Upon Tyne including the Discovery Museum, the Tyne Bridge and ‘St James Park’ football ground. Visits to the historic castle and cathedral sites are also not to be missed. Heading a little further up the Northumberland coast you will be able to find spectacular beaches to enjoy. Newcastle Upon Tyne is a bustling city with excellent shopping facilities and a busy nightlife.
We also have a selection of departures from many other ports within the UK. For example, our cruises from Tilbury offer another great way to remove the hassle of flying.
