In 2018, Fred. Olsen decided to branch out from ocean cruises and launched their first ever riverboat. Having chartered a ship from Amadeus River cruises, the vessel was refurbished and re-named Brabant. Appealing to a typical British audience, this new ship is slightly smaller than most that sail Europe’s rivers and has food and drink developed to suit the taste of the UK. Extending the home-from-home feeling, the crew are all English-speaking and Pounds Sterling is used on board.
Fred. Olsen’s signature stamp can be seen in the comfortable lounges, where live music often keeps guests entertained, in the beautifully appointed cabins that offer wonderful views of the passing scenery, and when enjoying five-course dinners in the restaurant. The sun deck is another great place to soak-up the views or simply relax with a book in-hand.
Even on a riverboat there is plenty of space for a fitness centre and hair salon, ensuring you’ll always look your best on board. Destinations include a range of picturesque towns and cities along the Rhine and Danube Rivers.
