Popular areas such as The Boardwalk (a district which provides a range of bars and restaurants with al fresco seating) and 678 Ocean Place (so named because it stretches across decks 6, 7 and 8 offering a range of entertainment facilities) are back, along with an aqua park for children and new waterslides that give you the chance to race your friends or zip off the side of the ship as your fired through a transparent tube.
Intriguing additions include a two-tiered go-kart track on the top deck, first seen on Norwegian Joy last year. This incarnation will be the longest at sea, providing guests a chance to get competitive with other cruisers. In order to keep noise pollution down and not flood the environment with unnecessary petrol fumes, the karts run on electric. However, they do simulate the real experience thanks to speakers in the headrest that pipe in the sound of a race car hurtling around the track.
Also on the top deck will be a laser tag course themed on an abandoned space station, Jacuzzis that hang over side of the ship, the aforementioned aqua park and Spice H2O – an area where you can dance under the stars or relax with a cocktail under the sun.
The new features are not just in the entertainment areas, though, as Norwegian Bliss will also see a range of fresh and exciting dining concepts. Along with Cagney’s Steakhouse, Le Bistro, La Cucina, Ocean Blue, Food Republic and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville® at Sea (all favourites from existing ships), there will be brand new restaurants for guests to sink their teeth into. ‘Q’ is a traditional Texas smokehouse, offering delicious barbecue flavours from the Deep South. As you enjoy beef brisket, sticky ribs and baked sweet potatoes, nightly live bands will create a party atmosphere.
Los Lobos will be your go-to place for fantastic Mexican cuisine and, although it has now been added to Norwegian Dawn, it will be the first time many NCL cruisers experience this food fiesta. Here, authentic dishes will be given an upscale twist to help you enjoy the flavours of one of the areas Bliss will spend a lot of time in during 2018. Finally, if you are looking for something sweet to finish off your meal or just an indulgent snack during the day, a dedicated dessert bar will answer your wishes. Located in 678 Ocean Place and welcoming guests with a giant chocolate fountain, Coco’s will serve up desserts in the way of cakes, crepes and handmade chocolates.
