The Best Quick-Service Restaurants At Sea
Cruise ships have some great quick-service restaurants offering a delicious alternative to the main dining options. Here are some of the best from the different cruise lines.

Sometimes, during your cruise, you aren’t in the mood for a full sit-down meal. Maybe it’s lunchtime and you just want a quick snack so you can head back the pool, maybe you’re already feeling guilty about overindulging on multi-course meals in the main dining room, or maybe you just fancy something simple rather than lavish. Whatever the reason, cruise ships have some great quick-service restaurants offering a delicious alternative to the main dining options. Here are some of the best from the different cruise lines.

Johnny Rockets – Royal Caribbean

As a cruise line that aims its ships and sailings at families, Royal Caribbean’s 1950s American diner is one of its most popular dining venues. Usually found on one of the higher decks, close to the pool, Johnny Rockets serves fully-stacked burgers and straw-bendingly thick milkshakes that will definitely hit the spot when you’re looking for something fast. Grab some onion rings and a coke float to go or sit down and enjoy a Smoke House. You’ll find this fast food favourite on Adventure, Allure, Anthem, Explorer, Freedom, Harmony, Independence, Liberty, Majesty, Mariner, Oasis, Voyager and the soon-to-arrive Symphony of the Seas.

Pinocchio’s’ Pizzeria – Disney Cruise Line

Pizza is a great option when you want something quick and that you know is going to taste great. This casual dining venue can be found on board Disney Wonder and Disney Magic and is open all day. Choose from four different types of pizza (pepperoni, vegetarian, Hawaiian and Margherita) at this counter next to Goofy’s Pool.

Grab and Go – P&O Cruises

What more convenience can you ask for than food which is available for you to take whenever you like? That’s exactly what you get from the Grab and Go counters on board P&O’s Britannia and Azura. Hot and cold breakfast items are joined by beautifully prepared sandwiches, making this the perfect place for food on the go. Heading off the ship early for an exciting shore excursion? Grab a bacon roll to help fuel your explorations. And the best part is that it’s all included in your cruise fare.

Trident Grill Ice Cream Counter – Crystal Cruises

If you’re looking for an ideal snack to help you cool off in the Mediterranean heat or the perfect end to an evening meal, the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream counter onboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity is a great choice. Located within the Trident Grill, a dining area with a retractable glass roof, the quick-service counter has plenty of flavours to choose from and all of them are part of the all-inclusive offering. You could be back by the pool in minutes with everyone else staring at you with food envy.

Late Night Buffet – Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At certain times of the day, the only way to satisfy your hunger pangs is at a quick-service dining area. This is often the case late at night when all of the main restaurants have finished serving for the day. If you’re sailing with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, though, there is no need to fret. Simply head to the Late Night Buffet and help yourself to whatever you are in the mood for. Whether you need a midnight snack, something to send you off to sleep with a smile on your face or a full meal after returning to the ship late, this dining venue can be a lifesaver. Depending on which ship you choose, the Late Night Buffet can be found in either the Palms Café, Secret Garden Café or Braemar Garden Café from 11pm.

Boardwalk Dog House – Royal Caribbean

Adding a whimsical and authentic feel to the Boardwalk neighbourhood on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class ships, the Boardwalk Dog House can offer hot dogs in a hurry. There are no less than six different sausages to choose from, each with its own bun and toppings, and then you can slather it with whichever sauce you choose. It’s a great snack to enjoy whilst exploring the ship and a nice way to treat the family if you’re looking for something different for lunch or dinner.

If you would like to sample the food on offer at any of these quick-service restaurants, we can help match your ideal ship with an itinerary that’s right for you. Call and speak to our expert team today.
