Silversea Cruisers Have A New Muse

If you regularly sail with Silversea Cruises or you love to glide across the oceans in the lap of luxury, there’s a new ship to get excited about. By definition, a muse is a source of inspiration and this new vessel is no exception. Silver Muse is set to inspire travels to explore the world and offers everyone who steps on board the chance to enjoy the finer things in life.

Silver Muse

The ship recently set sail on her maiden voyage to the French Riviera just hours after she had been officially delivered from the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa. In fact, Silversea were so confident she would be a success they chose to forego any last minute tests and staff training to allow the first cruise to take place on time.

A New Standard

Veranda Suite Silver Muse

There’s no doubting the opulence and elegance of Silver Muse, though. The all-suite ship has the highest number of larger suites in the fleet and all accommodation features a bath and a shower. She will set a new president for all of the company’s vessels as, in time, the four other traditional cruise ships will receive refurbishments so that too they include the stunning new dining venues, Zagara Beauty Spa and understated colour scheme found on board the new flag ship. This, coupled with Silversea’s plans to introduce three more sumptuous additions in 2020, 2021 and 2023, shows they are pulling out all the stops to try and earn a large section of the luxury market.

Speaking of dining venues, there is definitely a focus on providing memorable and delicious culinary experiences on board Silver Muse. She offers a total of eight different areas in which you can enjoy fantastic food, substantially more than a ship carrying just 595 guests would normally provide. As well as the two top restaurants, La Dame and Atlantide (which require an additional cover charge), there is Peruvian tapas place Silver Note, Asian inspired Indochine, Japanese open-kitchen concept Kaiseki and special cheese and wine evenings in the brand new Tor’s Observation Library.

A Slow-food Mentality

It’s clear to see that the range of cuisines available is vast, but culinary director Rudi Scholdis is determined to ensure ingredients are locally and sustainably sourced. With Argentinian beef procured from Buenos Aires, Italian truffles brought on board in Alba and Dutch veal obtained from Amsterdam, the slow-food mentality that Silversea encourages is perfectly put into action.

Away from the restaurants, they is so much more in which to indulge. The aforementioned Zagara Beauty Spa provides a multi-sensory experience that will relax the body and mind and allow you to tailor your experience to your own desires along the way. There’s also a large swimming pool and sun deck, a gym with facilities for exercise classes and an in-suite infotainment system which allows you to book excursions, onboard activities and a table for that evening’s meal.

Silver Muse will spend her debut season offering Mediterranean cruises out of ports such as Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Rome. British cruisers can get their first taste of her luxury in September, though, when she sails from Southampton to Canada’s east coast.
