Flora The Explorer
Celebrity Cruises has announced the newest addition to its fleet in the form of Celebrity Flora, a state-of-the-art ship that will offer the latest technology and supreme comfort when she launches in May 2019. Joining Celebrity Xpedition, Xperience and Xploration, Flora will operate in the Galapagos Islands, taking astounded guests to these otherworldly landscapes in search of unique wildlife and environments.
Innovations In Private And Public Areas
As an all-suite ship, Celebrity Flora will boast the outwardly facing design that is due to debut on board the forthcoming Celebrity Edge. This ensures that the destination becomes the focal point of your journey and you won’t miss a second of the captivating scenes outside your window – something only enhanced by the addition of infinite balconies. There is room for just 100 guests on board, who will make themselves at home in the largest suites of any ship sailing this region. Natural and sustainable materials will be used throughout and personal attendants will take care of your every need.
Away from the private areas, there are plenty more reasons to get excited about this beautiful ship. The Vista and The Observatory are two great areas that will allow explorers uninterrupted views of the islands from the ship. Whilst the latter features floor-to-ceiling windows, the former will offer 360-degree panoramas that will bring this part of the world to life. The Discovery Lounge will host presentations and talks by experienced naturalists in order to get you excited about what you might see, whilst the Marina, at the back of the ship, will have room for three Zodiacs, so you won’t waste time waiting to get off the ship. Finally, after a full day discovering wildlife and natural wonders, you can lie back on the outdoor Stargazing Platform to ponder the enormity of our universe.
Protecting This Amazing Region
The Galapagos is one of the most fascinating cruise regions in the world, but it is also one of the most fragile. Celebrity Flora has many features that aim to reduce the impact of tourism here, such as the innovative Dynamic Positioning System which removes the need for an anchor. Without having to disturb the seabed, this remarkable advancement allows the ship can stay in position whilst guests head ashore. In addition to this, filtration systems on board reduce plastic bottle use and turn seawater into pure drinking water which is then dispensed in your suite.
All in all, the impressive and technologically advanced Celebrity Flora is set to be one of the most luxurious and responsible ways to discover the Galapagos. Watch this space for more news and details about when her itineraries will be on sale.
