Children Can Now Become ‘Little Skippers’ With Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines
It can be difficult to find a holiday that suits every member of the family, and when considering a trip where everyone will be relatively confined (such as a cruise) this decision becomes even more poignant. However, adults wishing to take their children on a cruise with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines during the school holidays will no longer have to worry about the youngsters becoming bored on board.
The line have recently launched their brand new kids’ club ‘Little Skippers’, which will offer-up a wide range of fun for anyone between the ages of 5 and 11 on cruises during peak holiday periods. Parents and grandparents can head to the spa or relax on the pool deck with drink in hand, whilst the children will enjoy activities such as arts and crafts, treasure hunts and cookery classes under the watchful eye of trained staff who are passionate about ensuring they have a great time. Anyone with children under the age of 5 can also bring them along to the club but will have to stay and supervise.
The specific itinerary that your ‘Little Skippers’ will be able to enjoy will be distributed each day and will even include the chance to try the ‘mock-tail of the day’ – an alcohol-free alternative to the delicious cocktails served in places such as the Marquee Bar.
‘Little Skippers’ will be available on all four ships – Braemar, Balmoral, Boudicca and Black Watch – and will also include designated times where children can make a splash in the pool. It may be a small move away from the traditional for a cruise line that likes to celebrate the classic days of cruising, but it’s a great way to encourage more multi-generational families to come aboard.
And, unlike some holiday options, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines do not raise their prices during the busy summer holiday period. Instead, you will still receive excellent value for money along with an onshore itinerary that features a range of family-friendly excursions. One such example is the ‘Spain, Portugal & the Canary Islands’ sailing which departs from Newcastle on the 12th of August 2016 on board Balmoral. Families can look forward to activities that include whale watching, Segway riding and jeep safaris as they visit ports such as Lisbon, La Coruna and Gran Canaria.
