5 Enhancements To The New-Look Silver Spirit
Last year, we told you about the amazing renovations that were taking place on board Silver Spirit, as she was cut in half so that a new section could be added, increasing her length by almost 15 metres. However, this was not the entirety of the refurbishments. In a $70 million project aimed at bringing the ship in line with Silver Muse (dubbed the Musifaction process), restaurants were added, the suites were given an upgrade and a whole host of new venues found their way on board.
So, after just two months in dry dock, Silver Spirit emerged with the following enhancements.
An Increased Number Of Restaurants
Before Silver Spirit’s makeover, she boasted six different restaurants but now she can offer eight dining venues for guests to choose from. After passengers expressed delight at the wealth of options on board Silver Muse, the decision was made to recreate this fleetwide. So, Atlantide, Indochine, Silver Note and Spaccanapoli have all been added and now sit alongside Seishin, La Dame, La Terrazza and The Grill.
Atlantide is a classy seafood restaurant serving indulgent options such as blue lobster and royal crab. Indochine features a menu from all around Asia, whilst Silver Note takes inspiration from a little closer to home by serving tapas-style dishes as guests are serenaded by live jazz and blues performances. Finally, Spaccanapoli is an authentic pizzeria that offers a nod towards Silversea’s Italian heritage.
A Re-Imagined Pool Deck
On the pool deck, the added space now means that guests have more room to relax during sea days. The pool itself has been extended to include a shallow, beach-like area where you can sit with your legs immersed in the water if you like. There is also more space for sun loungers around the pool, along with more space to walk around in this part of the ship.
New Public Spaces
As well as re-designing existing areas, the renovation of Silver Spirit has created two brand new public areas where you can relax whilst at sea. What was once The Bar is now The Dolce Vita Lounge, a focal point for the ship where guests can mingle with new-found friends or take a seat with a pre-dinner drink.
Another new addition is the Arts Café, which was first seen on board Silver Muse. A sophisticated spot, it’s a relaxing café by day and a swinging cocktail lounge when the evening comes. The walls host exhibitions from a range of different artists and there is seating outside for anyone who wants to make the most of the weather.
The entire ship has received a much lighter, more modern interior which veers away from the dark colours and wood embellishments that could be seen before. Included in this are the luxurious suites, which are now much brighter than before with added technological upgrades. Flat-screen, interactive HD TV screens have been installed in each accommodation option, along with USB-C charging ports, an alarm/radio that connects to your smartphone and, in higher-graded suites, a Bose Soundtouch 30 speaker.
New Stern Thruster
A new thruster at the stern of the ship is hardly a headline enhancement, but it is worth noting that this will help to make Silver Spirit more energy efficient. It will also improve the vessel’s manoeuvrability, helping her sail effortless into the smaller ports of call she visits.
