Balmoral is the largest ship in the Fred. Olsen fleet and has the ability to hold 1,300 guests at any one time. This, along with a crew of just over five hundred, means that the vessel never feels too crowded and there are always enough staff members on hand to offer their help and support. Along with the Black Watch, Braemar and Boudicca this ship makes up a small fleet which provides an intimate atmosphere for anybody who sails with Fred. Olsen.
The ship takes its name from the official Scottish residence of the royal family and it definitely lives up to its regal name. With comfortable public areas and generously sized cabins, you are sure to enjoy your time aboard so much that you may never want to go back on dry land again.
Whilst on board you can enjoy entertainment in the form of cabaret shows and live music (staged in the Neptune Lounge) or refuel with a bite to eat in one of the various restaurant areas on the ship. Sail to destinations such as Norway, France and Canada as you sit back and enjoy the traditional feel of this small but accommodating cruise ship.
In 2017, Balmoral was refurbished as part of a mulit-million project that modernised the entire fleet. As well as new speciality restuarants being added, existing lounges and cabins were given a makeover to increase the light and airy feeling inside. The changes also saw RIB boats added for intimate shore excursions and exclusive activities.
