This wonderful dining area is one of two main restaurants on board Aurora and celebrates all things Ancient Egyptian. The name refers to the country’s second city and there are all sorts of further references in the décor and furnishings of the room. The open-plan seating area benefits from plenty of light, thanks to the panoramic windows at the aft of the ship, and a whole host of delectable dishes await as you make your choice from the inviting menu.
In the middle of the ship, on Deck E, you will find the second of the main restaurants. Medina was designed to reflect the connections that P&O have with Africa and the Middle East and so takes inspiration from days gone by to create a dining area that is perfect for the 21st century cruiser. Delicious cuisine is a given and guests will be able to find a table to suit them in this 500 seat restaurant, regardless of whether they are looking for an intimate table for two or one which will cater for all the members of an extended party.
On those beautifully warm evenings, guests can enjoy sumptuous al fresco dining in the Pennant Grill. The nearby Pennant Bar is also a great place to grab a cold drink during the day or join in with some of the themed lunches that are hosted here.
Café Bordeaux offers a more relaxed alternative to dinning in the two main restaurants. P&O refer to this as ‘select dining’ whilst meals taken in the more formal areas are done so in a ‘club dining’ environment. The menu here is in the very capable hands of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White and so there is a very clear French influence with other dishes from around the world also available. Guests are welcome to visit the café morning, noon and night as it is open twenty-four hours a day.
More relaxed still is the Orangery which enables passengers to help themselves to buffet-style food. The colourful walls and light and airy atmosphere help to create a casual ambiance, and the glorious views provide an excellent backdrop. Whether you are enjoying an early breakfast or afternoon tea, the food remains at a high standard.
The Sidewalk Café is the perfect place to grab a classic lunch time snack, without having to leave the pool area. Children will love the burgers, pizzas and sandwiches on offer whilst adults will enjoy the convenience of not having to dress up for lunch.
